Halloween was originally a time in which the Celts of ancient Britain would wear masks and other disguises to ward off ghosts. Spooky, right? Well, Halloween is right around the corner, and ACE club and the Levi-Spragues have a super spooky time planned for you right here at Sem this Friday and Saturday. On that note, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Opinator<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hopes you are ready for pumpkin carving, a haunted house, a scary movie, and an overall fun weekend with your friends! To kick off this ~spooky-filled~\u00a0 Halloween-themed week, this teacher questionnaire is a must-read! Several of your class deans, teachers, and advisors have been asked to answer a few questions about their Halloween interests, fears, and childhood memories, so check them out!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What was your favorite Halloween costume when you were a kid, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Pons<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;In first grade, I was a calculator. My brother was Darth Vader.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Mozeleski<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;My favorite costume was either my fully outfitted fly fisherman outfit or\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when I was Martha Stewart in prison.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sherry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;One year, I made my own robot costume out of tinfoil-covered cardboard boxes with a working slot in the front that opened so the people could drop candy into it.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Dinsmore<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Luke Skywalker &#8211; what more needs to be said?\u00a0 It was the first movie I saw. Epic!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Morris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I had an awesome Luke Skywalker costume one year. It was the best! I remember the original <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Star Wars <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(yes, I saw it in a theater, so yes, I&#8217;m old) really captivated me, so that costume allowed me to channel what I envisioned my inner Jedi to be.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kaschak<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;My favorite childhood costume was a hockey goalie. It was a welcome break from being a baseball player for Halloween.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Swaback<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8220;We had one of my mom\u2019s nurse uniforms, and we would alter it to be a diabolical nurse \u2026 crazy wig, large fake needle, rubber gloves and fake blood!&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Shafer:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8220;My favorite Halloween costume was Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the scariest movie you have watched?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Pons<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">28 Days Later<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It could happen, right?\u00a0 Look at measles.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Mozeleski<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Scariest movie was <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scream, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and it was the first and last real horror movie I watched, and I didn\u2019t make it the whole way through it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Bartron<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I still think <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Exorcist<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of the scariest movies ever.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sherry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;It\u2019s not really a horror movie, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever fully recovered from the ending of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Time Bandits<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Morris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alien<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (the original) scared the heck out of me when I first saw it way back in the day.\u00a0 Dark, creepy, scary, gross &#8211; almost like a sci-fi haunted house.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rev Carrick<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terror Train<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; made me jump too many times!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kaschak<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;It\u2019s a tie between <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Exorcist<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the original <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Texas Chainsaw Massacre<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Swaback<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Happy Birthday to Me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I\u2019ll never forget it. There was a movie theater in Pittston that allowed you into R rated movies. We were probably in middle school. I have never voluntarily watched a horror movie again. I\u2019ll never forget the last scene when they were all around a table with a birthday cake!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Shafer:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8220;Scariest movie is a really tough one. I love horror movies, so I\u2019ve seen a ton, but that makes it very hard for them to leave a lasting impression. I do remember that the movie <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piranha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> absolutely terrified me as a child to the point that I was convinced I would die if I went in the Sem pool. More recently, I think <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Strangers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is my favorite.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Would you rather be stalked by Micheal Myers or Freddy Krueger?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Pons<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Freddy. I love to sleep, but not summer camp.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Mozeleski<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Michael Myers without a doubt &#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Ris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I\u2019m not really too familiar with either of them.\u00a0 I was about to say Michael Myers because he would cause me to laugh myself to death, but then I looked up Michael Myers\u2019s photo and learned he was not the same actor as the famous SNL comedian.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sherry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Freddy Krueger. Halloween is usually right around fall musical tech week, so I wouldn\u2019t be asleep enough for him to get me in my dreams.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Dinsmore<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Micheal Myers. At least I could find a safe place to sleep, and I have a bigger chain-saw than he does.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Harvey<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Michael Myers. I like my sleep and would hate to think that Freddy Kueger was messing with it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kaschak<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I would rather be stalked by Michael Myers. He is a less capable killer than Freddy Krueger.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Shafer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;100% Michael Myers. He\u2019s just a regular dude. Freddy Krueger is supernatural, which makes him way harder to shake. Plus, I need my beauty rest, so I can\u2019t have anybody messing up my dreams.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Are you one to be scared easily?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Pons<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;OMG yes.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Ris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8221; I\u2019m not sure if I scare easily, or if I just enjoy being scared. I will generally go all out to be genuinely scared.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Bartron<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Not so much. I\u2019m fairly tough.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sherry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I wouldn\u2019t say scared, no. But I\u2019ll jump\/yell\/throw something when I\u2019m caught off guard.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Morris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Interesting question. I do still enjoy a good movie that plays with your mind. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Signs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for example.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rev Carrick<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I am a big jumper when it comes to movies.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Harvey<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I like scary movies, but that being said, I do scare fairly easily.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Shafer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Only jump scares get me, but I always end up laughing after. I do tend to scare myself in some way because of my wild imagination.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>If you were in a horror movie, would you be the last person standing, the first to die, the comic relief, the smart one, or the killer, and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Pons<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Comic relief.\u00a0 If you can&#8217;t laugh, what&#8217;s the point of living?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Mozeleski<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;If I were in a horror movie, I would be in a living hell, but I would definitely try to outsmart the killer. So, consider me the smart one who would probably also be the first one to die.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Ris<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;While I enjoy being scared, I would not be any of the really stupid ones who went into the haunted house at night in the middle of a thunder and lightning storm, or who wandered into a dark cave from which no one had ever come out alive, or any other comparably dubious situation. So I guess I would be the smart one who did not follow all his friends into certain death.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Bartron<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Perhaps the comic relief and the distractor &#8211; hopefully the smart one!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sherry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I\u2019d be the scraggly-bearded guy who had survived a run-in with the monster\/killer in the past and warns the new potential victims, only to later die when I try to help them because they didn\u2019t listen to my warning (basically Death-By-I-Told-You-So).&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rev Carrick<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Well, comic reliefs have a good survival rate &#8230;&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Kaschak<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;Having watched a lot of horror movies growing up, I think I learned enough to be the smart one in a horror movie.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Shafer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &#8220;I think I\u2019d be the killer. Kind of like Amanda from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saw II<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I\u2019ve been through it enough times that it\u2019s time for me to make my own games.
