Saturday, April 25th was a very important day for the Wyoming Seminary community, as it was finally time for the long-awaited dance marathon! In support of the miracle kids at Janet Weis Children\u2019s Hospital, Sem students and faculty gathered in the Blue Gym at 12:30pm and danced their hearts out for seven hours straight. Miracle kids Emma, Chance, Luca, Elisabeth, and Mila all attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, swaying to the rhythms and enjoying the copious amounts of refreshments at the event, such as the sponsors snack bar and the Rita\u2019s Italian Ice station. Madi Szafran \u201829, who was in attendance for the big event, had nothing but positive things to say about her experience: \u201cSemDM was an amazing experience! I had so much fun with the kids and my friends! I think this is an amazing event and I support the cause! If you didn\u2019t come this year, come next year \u2013 don\u2019t miss out!\u201d\u00a0

Hosting multiple creative and inclusive fundraisers prior to the event, the SemDM executives worked particularly hard to make sure that the miracle kids and their families would have the best experience possible. From pilates to bake sales to powderpuff games, there was something that everybody in the Sem community was able to enjoy and participate in. These events helped strengthen the bonds of our school community. Kaila Chung \u201827 reflects on this, saying \u201ceven though I wasn\u2019t able to be at SemDM, I really enjoyed seeing the Sem community come together to support a singular cause with things like Tunes for Tots and the head shaving.\u201d With more fundraising events at the dance marathon such as the big raffle and the continuing t-shirt sale, the Wyoming Seminary community was able to raise a whopping $38,127.79 for Janet Weis Children\u2019s Hospital. Through this event, students and teachers united with each other as well as the miracle families, making the experience extraordinary and especially memorable.
